In 1971, a small Madrassa (seminary) was established at the Central Jamia Masjid of Islamabad (Red Mosque) with about 20 to 25 students in the Quran memorization class. Shortly after its establishment because of shortage of space, the madrassa was relocated to a flat in F-6/4 Islamabad, where the first department of Dars-i Nizami was established, and the madrassa was renamed Madrasa Arabiya Islamia. After some time, this place also started complaining of scarcity, so it was felt that large space was needed for this madrassa so that a large number of students could be accommodated.

Therefore, in the foothills of Margalla Hills in front of the Sector E-7, Maulana Abdullah Shaheed started the construction of the present building along with the old mosque of the village with the help of Seth Haroon Jafar Sahib and through the efforts of a sincere friend Haji Akhtar Hassan.
This piece of land was attached to an old mosque. As a result of this effort, construction work of a madrassa was started and in 1984 the madrassa was sifted to its present building and renamed as Jamia-ul-Uloom-ul-Islam Al-Faridia. By that time, the number of students had reached 125.

The plant (Jamia Faridiya) planted in the Central Jamia Masjid of Islamabad by Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Abdullah, the martyr of Islam, has now turned into a great religious seminary, Jamia has become a comprehensive project. At present, about 1500+ students are studying Quran and other religious and modern sciences.

No fee, whatsoever, is charged from students.
